About UJSA

Who We Are

The United Jewish Security Alliance (UJSA) a North American umbrella organization representing local and regional grassroots Jewish communal security and safety initiatives. Member organizations include community-funded armed security groups, neighborhood patrol services, training entities, and other community-based safety programs. We are a coalition of 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations dedicated to enhancing and sustaining localized, community-driven security solutions. Our member organizations are led by community members committed to practical, results-oriented approaches to security.

Unlike Jewish “legacy organizations” that often respond after threats materialize, the UJSA was built on the principle of first response through prevention. We operate on the front lines of community security – not in press releases and policy memos. Our members are embedded within the communities they serve, responding to early indicators, conducting ongoing training, and mobilizing ahead of risk. We are not waiting for permission. We are acting now, and invite every Jewish community to do the same. Security is not a headline; it is a communal responsibility, and one that is already underway for our members.

Our commitment is to the safety and security of Jewish communities across the country –without delay, distraction, or bureaucracy.

Our Mission

To strengthen and support grassroots Jewish security and safety organizations—such as Shmira, Shomrim, Chaverim, and others—through national collaboration, resource sharing, training, and advocacy. UJSA ensures these community-based efforts are effective, professional, and sustainable.

Our Purpose

The United Jewish Security Alliance (UJSA) exists to serve as a national umbrella for local, community-funded Jewish security initiatives. From armed security teams to volunteer patrols and emergency responders, UJSA unites these efforts to safeguard Jewish neighborhoods, institutions, and events—ensuring that the responsibility for Jewish safety remains in Jewish hands.

Our Vision

To build a unified, empowered, and self-reliant Jewish community where grassroots security organizations are equipped, coordinated, and respected as essential protectors of communal life.
